INSTRUCTIONS!!!! Cooking with Soapstone
Cooking with Soapstone

A. Things You'll Need

* Cooking oil
* Stovetop heat diffuser
* Trivet, wooden cutting board or thick towel
* Potholders
* Sponge
* Mild dish detergent

B. Curing New Soapstone Cookware

1) Wash with a sponge or brush in warm water only or warm soapy water before first use, and allow it to dry thoroughly.

2) Cure your soapstone cookware properly, according to the directions included with your cookware before using the first time. Alternatively, coat the cookware with a generous coating of cooking oil (your choice) by applying grease all sides of the soapstone. Then place the cookware in a warm place for 24 hours. The oil will be absorbed and the stone will become almost dry.

3) After that drying time, place oiled cookware in an unheated oven. Bring the heat to 350
