Mauviel M'Heritage M250C 6506.03 6.2-Quart Saut? Pan with Lid and Cast-Iron Handles

My favorite shape pan in my favorite material
The rondeau shape is by far my favorite pan shape. Think of it as either a squat casserole pan or as a tall sauté pan. Either way, it's the best of both worlds all in one pan. This pan has 2.5mm of copper with a stainless steel lining. Although heavy and expensive, this pan is a true performer in my kitchen. The size and shape make it a very versatile pan while the material has made it quite the workhorse. The picture shown here, however, is NOT what the pan looks like in real life. For an accurate picture of the product, look for this product number on the Mauviel website. The picture here looks more like their curved slayed sauté pan (which has a smaller and rounder bottom than their straight sided rondeau.)

Smaller than advertised
Love Mauviel. Have lots, but am a little disappointed in this item. I ordered this (rondeau) and the 11 inch saute pan at the same time. The saute pan is listed at 4.9 quarts and the rondeau at 6.2 quarts (the Mauviel website lists it as 6.5 quarts). When I received the second of the two I realised that they are exactly the same height and width (thus the same volume).
After checking twice, I measured 5.5 quarts. A little extra for one and a little less for the other. I'm in Asia, so you can forgot about sending it back, but it would be nice if they were a bit more accurate with their measurements. I would have liked the extra 0.7-1.0 quarts of headroom in the rondeau. Mauviel can and should do better.
